The Mercedes-Benz Garmin MAP PILOT A2189062704 V22 is a dedicated navigation SD card update for compatible Mercedes-Benz vehicles equipped with Garmin MAP PILOT navigation.
The 2026 Europe update is designed for drivers who want to replace older map data and keep their factory navigation system useful for everyday driving and longer journeys across Europe.
What Is Mercedes Garmin MAP PILOT A2189062704?
The A2189062704 part number identifies a Garmin MAP PILOT navigation SD card used with compatible Mercedes-Benz navigation systems.
Unlike a universal GPS device, Garmin MAP PILOT is integrated directly into the vehicle’s original infotainment system. Navigation information is displayed through the factory Mercedes screen and controlled using the vehicle’s existing controls.
This makes the system convenient for drivers who want to keep the original Mercedes navigation instead of replacing the factory multimedia system.
Garmin MAP PILOT V22 Europe 2026
The V22 Europe 2026 update provides refreshed navigation data for European roads and destinations.
Updated map data can be particularly useful when your existing navigation has not been updated for several years.
The latest map generation is intended to provide:
- Updated road information
- New roads and junctions
- Updated route data
- Revised Points of Interest
- Improved destination information
- More accurate European navigation
Why Update Your Mercedes Garmin MAP PILOT?
Old navigation maps can become increasingly inaccurate as European road infrastructure changes.
A road that was recently built may not exist in an older map database, while a changed junction or roundabout can cause the navigation system to calculate an inefficient route.
Updating your Garmin MAP PILOT can help provide:
- More current road information
- Better route planning
- Updated destinations
- New Points of Interest
- More comfortable long-distance driving
Mercedes Navigation Map Update Europe
Compatibility – Important Before Ordering
The A2189062704 update should only be purchased after checking the navigation system installed in your Mercedes-Benz.
The most important point is that the vehicle must use the compatible Garmin MAP PILOT SD-card navigation system.
The vehicle model alone is not enough to determine compatibility.
Before ordering, check:
- Current navigation SD card
- Part number on the existing card
- Garmin MAP PILOT branding
- Navigation system generation
- Vehicle multimedia system
Mercedes-Benz Models
Garmin MAP PILOT systems can be found in selected Mercedes-Benz models and production configurations.
Depending on the vehicle and equipment, the system can be encountered in models such as:
- Mercedes-Benz A-Class
- Mercedes-Benz B-Class
- Mercedes-Benz C-Class
- Mercedes-Benz CLA
- Mercedes-Benz CLS
- Mercedes-Benz GLA
- Mercedes-Benz GLC
- Mercedes-Benz SLC
- Mercedes-Benz SLK
Important: compatibility depends on the installed navigation system, not simply on the model name or year of the vehicle.
How to Install the Garmin MAP PILOT SD Card
Installing the navigation card is straightforward when the correct card has been selected.
Step 1 – Switch off the vehicle
Turn off the ignition before removing the existing navigation card.
Step 2 – Remove the old SD card
Carefully remove the current Garmin MAP PILOT SD card from the navigation system.
Step 3 – Insert the V22 card
Insert the A2189062704 V22 Europe 2026 SD card into the appropriate slot.
Step 4 – Start the vehicle
Switch on the ignition and open the navigation system.
Step 5 – Follow the on-screen instructions
The navigation system will detect the card and display the available navigation information.
Important: Navigation SD Cards and Vehicle Activation
Garmin MAP PILOT SD cards are not the same as ordinary removable storage cards.
Depending on the navigation system and card type, the card may be associated with the vehicle during activation. Therefore, customers should check compatibility carefully before purchasing and installing a navigation card.
This is especially important when replacing an older card with a newer map version.
Europe Map Coverage
The Europe navigation update is designed for journeys throughout a wide range of European countries.
It is suitable for:
- Everyday local driving
- Business travel
- Cross-border journeys
- European road trips
- Holiday travel
Updated European map data is particularly useful for drivers who regularly travel between several countries.
A2189062704 V22 vs Older Navigation Maps
If your Mercedes still uses an older Garmin MAP PILOT map version, upgrading to V22 provides a much newer map database.
The main reason to upgrade is not a change to the Mercedes infotainment hardware, but the availability of newer navigation information.
A newer map can help your system better reflect:
- New road construction
- Changed intersections
- New residential areas
- Updated destinations
- Updated Points of Interest
